The SideEffect offline suite offers a multiple workstation facility allowing increased
workflow rate. The studio has a 2Gb Ethernet switch that allows files captured on Digibeta footage in
the online suite to be transferred (after reducing resolution) into the offline suite. The use of the
offline suite in this way enables savings in the cost of the editing process.
Each of the workstations has the ability to receive direct input from DVCam, Mini DV, DVD, SVHS and
(even) VHS. All workstations are based around new Apple Mac G5 2 GHz dual processor hardware
providing a range of post-production tools including Apple's professional digital production package of Final
Cut Pro HD and DVD Studio Pro 3, Discreet's highly regarded 'Combustion' motion graphics, compositing and visual
effects software and a range of Adobe products.
